Material The standard shall be manufactured from steel of sufficient strength to conform to <br />AASHTO "Standard Specifications for Structural Supports for Highway Signs, <br />Luminaires and Traffic Signals", latest revision with the following conditions: a <br />steady wind of 100 mph (1.3 gust factor) while supporting up to a 10 foot round <br />tapered arm weighing 60 pounds and a luminaire weighing 50 pounds and 1.3 square <br />feet effective projected azea. Unless otherwise noted the location of each item listed <br />will conform to the above drawing. The structure shall be certified and guaranteed <br />by the manufacturer. <br />2. Dimensions The standard shall have a nominal length of 33 feet 6 inches with a base diameter of <br />8.5 inches and a taper of 0.14 inches in diameter per foot in length. The' base bolt <br />circle shall be 12 inches slotted 1-1/8 x 1-SI8 inches for 1 inch anchor bolts. All <br />dimensions shall conform to the above drawings. <br />3. Mounting The luminaire arm shall mount to the standard via plate mounting with 3/4 x 1-3/4 <br />inches hex head bolts, per the above drawings. All mounting holes shall be drilled <br />and tapped (unless self-tapping screws aze supplied) including holes for nut covers. <br />Bolts shall be either hex or allen head. Four 1/8 inch thick, galvanized shims shall be <br />supplied for leveling. <br />4. Handhole The standard shall have a 5 x 7 inch handhole located 18 inches from base plate. The <br />handhole cover shall be secured with hex head bolt(s). A 1/2 inch x 13 NC nut <br />holder with fastener for grounding shall be located 180 degrees from and centered <br />within the handhole. <br />5. Finish The standard shall be finished per 09913050-5 "Public Service of Colorado Standazd <br />Specification for Surface Coating of Street Lighting Material", latest revision. All <br />hazdwaze less than 1/2 inch in diameter shall be stainless steel and all hardwaze <br />greater than 1/2 inch in diameter shall be galvanized per ASTM A153, latest <br />revision. <br />6. Identification The standazd shall have an ID tag stamped with the manufacturer's name riveted <br />above the lower handhole. <br />7. Packaging The standard shall be wrapped in 3/16 inch UV inhibiting plastic backed foam for <br />protection during shipping and storage. The nut covers, handhole cover, shims and <br />pole top cap shall be bagged and secured inside the standard. <br />Indicates Chanee, also "C" MSCS # 2743 <br />5720.0411 <br />
