Department oP Commerce in Walden, Colorado, <br />Precipitation,- Precipitation is directly related to <br />local topography, In general, winter precipitation falls as <br />snow over large areas at a time; whereas, summer precipitation <br />is mostly scattered, local showers or thunderstorms. At all <br />times oP the year, precipitation is normally heaviest over <br />and near the mountain ranges. Table 6 shows the precipitation <br />at Walden, <br />Based on twenty years of data, the normal annual precipi- <br />tation at Walden is 9.9 inches. Monthly variations in norm=_1 <br />precipitation are slight with no distinct annual precipitation <br />pattern.
