The pn ncipal
spillway will be nonclogging and will automatically dewatet the ponding area to maintain
the design capacity foc the runoff volume for a 10-year, 24-hour storm event.
Spillways
This sediment pond has two separate spillways; a principal and an emergency. PLease see
Exhibit 13-SA for. location of spillways. The principal aptllway consists of a 12-inch
diameter Corr ugaCed metal pipe ~CP1P~. This Fipe will keep the pond level at the 7004.40
el =_vation. Maaimum es[rmated elevation (peak stage) above the principal spillway with
the passage at the 10-year, 'c4-hour event will be 7006.67, this leaves 0.33 feet to the
emergency spillway (elevation 7007,00.
The emba n4:ment portion of the emergency spillway consists of a n prap crapezcid al channel
as shown on Exhibit 13-SA. Assuming the principal spillway was pluggetl, the trapezoidal
channel could safely pass the runoff volume from [he f5-year and 100-year., 24-hour storm.
The emergency spillway outflow channel consists a riprapped trapezoidal channel which was
underlayed with Miraii 600:1 geo[er.i ile see Addendum 13-4A-D Eor specificaiionsl.
13-4A-E Revised 12;12797
