V OUNTAIN REGION CORP.
- INDUSTRW.1:UiV~TKU~iiuir-
.-~
Dec. 19, 1995
Robert Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Minerals & Geology
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
C~enver, Co 80203
Dear Mr. Oswald,
Please review the information enclosed, I am sure this will clarify the
majority of concerns.
Exhibit C -Mountain Region Corp. will conform mining to the requirements
of Grand Valley Rual Power requirements and Mine Safety Requirements.
Grand Valley required a minimum of a 30' around poles, and we agree
a 3:1 slope will meet safety requirements.
Exhibit D Mining Plan Map - Enclosed is a map that will identify on a
larger scale the area with in the mining permit. The solid dark green
line identifies the mining area, on the West side there is a 30' set back
fr:::t~ ti:e I_~roperty line, on the North and East side the 30' set back is
from the rim of the mesa which accounts for the irregular mining permit
'imundary, based on the 30' set back requirement for the rim it is an
identifiable boundary, On the map the area shown as 4,900 is the rim
of the mesa, The buffer strip is the 30' set back. All roads will be
removed during the last phase of mining, The runoff control berm is
located in the South West corner of the property currently and will
remain after the mining is completed.
Exhibit F- Reclamation Plan- The earth berm is located in the
South West corner of the property and will remain after the mining
has been complete.
Exhibit G. The 100 year storm runoff is attached if there is additional
information required please contact Pat O'Connor, P. E. at 1970}248-6597.
The berm will be an additional 5' high, this area is already in the lowest
part of the property, when the mining in area four is complete and
all roads removed, the mined area will drain to the lowest part of the
property, as it does now, the slopes will be a 3:1 after mining. This
berm will be on top of the current berm. This berm was originally
constructed as a water retention pond for this property.
One Seventeen 29 3/4 Road `Grand Junction, Colorado 81503 303) 242-5461
