INTRODUCTION <br />The Anderson Pit is located approximately 2.5 miles northeast ofthe town of Delta Colorado in <br />Delta County. Several gravel pits have operated immediately to the west of the Anderson Pit <br />including two which United Companies have previously mined and reclaimed; the mining of the <br />Anderson Pit will be consistent with adjacent land uses. The Fredlund Pit, which is active, is <br />immediately west of the Anderson Site. United Companies will be the operator and will place <br />the reclamation bond with the DMG. <br />The permit area will be 161.86 acres on currently imgated field. After excavation the pit will be <br />allowed to fill with water and a wetland fringe will be established around the perimeter. <br />Peninsulas will also be created with overburden and topsoil which are removed as a consequence <br />of mining. These peninsulas suttounding the lake could be used as future home sites by a future <br />owner. The initial reclamation bond for the site is estimated at $147,645. <br />The permittee for this site is O1dCastle SW Group, Inc. dba United Companies of Mesa County. <br />The name has been shortened throughout this application to United Companies. <br />Anderson Pit August OS i-1 <br />
