As stated in my letter ±o t1r. Rii:lt Ullom on Max•ch 11, 1994, thie
project should have minimal impact on the wildlife resources of t.hP
area providing reclamation is done in a timely manner. Complete
reclamation of tPle area is extremely important for several reasons.
The first is that the ax•ea is located in severe winte* range for
mule deer. A majority of the deer can be found in this area rlurina' a
winter with above normal snow fall and below normal temperatures.
Second, the pit is located in an area which drains into the lower
!^Jhite River. The lower portions of the White River are home to the
federally endangered Col.oradn River Squawfish. The White River
already carries a large :;ilt load during the spring runoff and high
rainfall events.
