Because these new mixes are based extensively on pre-
disturbance composition, the requirements of Rule 4.15.2(3) have been met
empirically.
Planting and Beetling
u
(iv)
PR-O6
/') PPRo ~
~~I S/Oi
Planting will be accomplished with the use of a rangeland drill pulled behind a
rubber-tired tractor or other suitable equipment. Broadcast seeding will be
used for areas where drill seeding is not practicable.
Mulching Techniques
A straw mulch will be used to provide surface protection and store moisture
during the first growing season. The application rate will be about 4,000
pounds per acre. Only clean grain straw that is free of noxious or problem
weeds will be used. The straw will be anchored by mechanical crimping,
polypropylene erosion control netting or with one of the various tackifying
agents available on the market.
2.05 - 53 -
10/01
