This quantity results in an average 1.1 foot <br />replacement depth within the disturbed area atthe loadout including the disturbance <br />associated with Ponds J & K. The topsoil is stored in topsoil stockpile F. <br />Construction of the new refuse disposal area during 2004 will require that <br />approximately 26,000 cubic yards of topsoil be salvaged to clear the area for the <br />first 50-foot lift. Subsequently, contemporaneous reclamation will occur. This will <br />be accomplished by salvaging topsoil from the undisturbed area above the <br />completed bench and placing the material on the completed bench. Approximately <br />2-feet of topsoil will be placed on each completed bench. Excess topsoil, if any, will <br />be placed in the topsoil stockpile. Succeeding benches will be constructed and <br />• reclaimed in the same manner. See Appendix A in Volume IX for material balance <br />details. Topsoil will be stored in topsoil stockpile E as shown on Figure I located in <br />Volume IX. The operator will report to the DMG the volume of topsoil actually <br />salvaged to clear the area for the first 50-foot lift and the depth and volume of <br />topsoil that is salvaged in advance of disturbance and replaced on each lift. <br />Construction of the drill pad located immediately above the utility bench during late <br />2004 will the require that approximately 1,000 cubic yards of topsoil be salvaged. <br />The topsoil will be stored in topsoil stockpile "G" which is located on top of the B- <br />Seam portal excess material stockpile. <br />Topsoil stockpiles were and will be constructed to reduce erosion of the stockpiles <br />by either wind or water. The topsoil stockpiles are located on stable surfaces where <br />they will not be disturbed by the mining operation.
