Mamm Creek A~Dlication No. M-2000-I13
Dear Mr, Squire:
We represent the Ciry of Rifle. At the request of the Ciry Council, I am writing in
response to your letter dated November 29, 2000 to Jeff Simonson, the City's Consulting
Engineer. At this point is time, the City believes that it needs to review the information that will
be submitted in response to the two (2) adequacy review documents prepazed by Allen Sorenson
and Tom Schreiner dated November 16 and November 1, 2000, respectively. Until the Ciry has
received and reviewed that information, the it is unable to determine if it has concerns regazding
this project. It was this lack of this information which gave rise to Mr. Simonson's initial letter
dated November 3, 2000. It tray well be that, upon receipt from the applicant of the responses
to the adequacy review dolvments, the City's conncerns will be resolved, and that no new concerns
will be identified. However, until such tune as it has received a wpy of that information, it does
wish to be named as a parry and retain parry status for the reasons outlined in Mr. Simonson's
lever. Enclosed is the completed party starts request form, In addition to his letter, the Ciry
shazes the concerns regazding geomorphic stability and other issues that have been raised in the
two (2) adequacy review documents.
As indicated by Mr. Simonson in his letter, a watershed district permit will be required
from the Ciry of Rifle prior to the commencement of the activities proposed. The City wishes to
make it clear that it is not raising any water quality issues before the Division which will be
addressed in that process.
Hopefully this letter clarifies the City's position. At your reques[, ~I am returning the parry
status request form completed on behalf of the Ciry.
1:iao6.lenaa-Memo WIFLE.sy.lrt•ma..7a
