Walther
E>ecutive Director
Michael B. Long
Division Director
The Division has reviewed your responses to our preliminary adequacy review for your application
for a Reclamation Permit for the Rowe Gravel site. Your responses were determined to be
adequate with the exception that the proposed seeding rate was insufficient and the mulch
application rate was not specified. The reclamation cast estimate was calculated using a seeding
rate of 7.5 pounds per acre of the proposed seed mix and a mulch application rate of 1 ton per
acre. Given the low precipitation rates for your area, these rates should be sufficient, though they
are a bit lower than those normally used. The Division will approve your application, with these
changes, at the end of the ten day public comment period. If you do not agree with these
changes, please notify the Division in writing within 2 days of receipt of this letter.
The reclamation bond amount has been calculated, based upon the original application information
and any revised information submitted in your adequacy review response. The amount of the
estimated reclamation costs is 54,986.00 as shown on the front page of the enclosed bond
estimate package. Therefore your current financial warranty is adequate to reclaim the site as
proposed in your application.
You will be receiving your permit document, from our Denver Office, within a few days of the
approval date. After receiving your permit, you may commence with your mining operation.
Please remember that any future changes you make to your mining or reclamation plans must first
be incorporated into your permit, through the revision or amendment process.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Minerals and Geology,
Durango Field Office, 484 Turner Drive, Building F, Suite 101, Durango, CO 81301, phone no.
970-247-5062.
Sincerely,
.~~
Steve S.
