<br />The following is the form of the newspaper advertisement was used for the
<br />permit transfer.
<br />Public Notice
<br />Bowie Resources, LLC, 1500 North Big Run Road, Ashland Kentucky, 41102, has submitted
<br />a request for transfer of a coal permit and succession of operators to the Division of Minerals
<br />and Geology for the Bowie No. 2 Mine, mining permit No. C-96-083. The request for transfer
<br />includes a revision of the identification of interests section of the permit. Bowie Resources
<br />Limited is the current permittee and has agreed to transfer the permit to Bowie Resources,
<br />LLC. The Bowie No. 2 Mine is located about five miles northeast of Paonia, CO, off old State
<br />Highway 133. The mine permit area is located on the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute
<br />Bowie Quadrangle map.
<br />The mine facilities are located north of State Highway 1336 near the town of Bowie, CO. A
<br />pump station, three sediment ponds and unit train loadout are located south of State Highway
<br />1336. The Fire Mountain Canal is located south of the mine facilities and north of the unit
<br />train loadout. The North Fork of the Gunnison River is located south of the mine permit
<br />boundary. The mine permit area is located on the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Bowie
<br />Quadrangle map within the following sections.
