The following infor>nation provides the basis. for <br />inclusion of Segments 11 and 12 on the Monitoring and Evalu~ion List. <br />The WQCI}proposed W include Segments 11 and 12, oa the'303(d) List at the September 2002 <br />hearing. These segments were not included on the 1998 303(d) List because they hail ambient based <br />standards that were adopted by the Commission at the 1997 Gunnison River hearing.. The ambient <br />based standards were changed at the 2001 Gunnison Basin hearing to TVS plus Temporary <br />Modifications. The Temporary Modifications included chronic valiies.based on ambie~ and no acute <br />values. The reason for this was the provision is the Basic Standards that says ambient based chronic <br />standards canobt exceed the acute standard. <br />The following is a summary of the relevant standards: <br />Segment i 1: <br />2001: Cd (ac) = T'V3 (tr) TM = Cd (ch) = 3.5 µg2 <br />Zn (ac) = TVS (tr) TM = Zn (ch) = 661 µg2 <br />1997: Ca (ac) = 2.2 µg7L (no chronic) <br />Za (ac) =465. µg2 (no chrome) <br />Segment 12: . <br />fool : zn (aa) = T'VS {rr) TM ~ zn (ch) ='S9$ µg/L ... ~ ~:, ,:.: , _._ .. ..,:, <br />1997: ZN (ac) = 393 µg2 (im chronic) <br />mA miv6t djml <br />
