Typically, tl~e <br />surface layer is sandy loam about 10 inches thick. ['nderlying <br />Lavers are extremely channery and extremely Elaggy sandy loam. <br />Trachyte bedrock occurs between 20 and 40 inch depths. Tlie soil <br />is typically neutral to 19 inches, mildly alkaline to 2G inches, and <br />moderately alkaline below 26 inches. Permeability is moderately <br />rapid. Available water capacity is very low.
