Table 4.41 coot
•
Standard:
25°~ herbaceous cover and 22% titter (t)(2)
• .08 cover factor is based upon 25% herbaceous cover and 22% litter cover giving 47% effective
cover.
• Attached Table 4.4-3, SCS Tech. Note 50 (1982) was used to generate the above factor for cover.
The value assumes that shrubs do not contribute canopy cover, and the herbaceous species is (G).
• Litter cover factor is .459 of the total effective cover based on 1979 and 7985 premined data, Range
Site C, Table 2.
(1) The standards for cover assume that, at a minimum, the stated herbaceous cover standard will
be established for each range site. If more than the stated herbaceous cover value is achieved,
then the corresponding litter cover value may be decreased.
(2) The litter component counted toward meeting the cover standard shall not be artificially applied
material, but shall be derived from previous years plant production since seeding.
u
[HBHlb SIB7 Retyped SissJ
•
4-105
Revision: i ~ - y (
Approved:..2/~8~5 8
