The Picnic Area: <br />About twenty-two (22) trees will be planted in this <br />area to provide shade and shelter in and around the <br />four (4) picnic sites. Eleven (11) of these will be <br />deciduous species consisting of Hackberry, Ash, and <br />Honeylocust; the other eleven (11) will be conifers <br />consisting of Colorado Blue Spruce and Ponderosa Pine. <br />Plantings will be about 30 to 40 feet apart, depending <br />upon species, with the deciduous species predominating <br />close to each picnic site to maximize shade and shelter <br />there. <br />c. Around the :Lake: <br />(1) Twelve :Lumps of shrubs will be randomly located <br />around the periphery of the lake. Clumps will be <br />spaced +at 125 to 150 feet apart as shown on the <br />Sketch 1?lan. Each clump will contain Caragana, <br />Plum, Nanking Cherry, and a few Lilac, planted in <br />mixed groups of five (5) shrubs per clump with <br />plants :spaced 5 to 7 feet apart. <br />(2) Deciduous and conifer trees will be interspersed <br />between clumps of shrubs around the lake to fill in <br />gaps and provide aesthetically pleasing surroundings. <br />Sixteen (16) trees (8 conifers and 8 deciduous) <br />spaced about 50 feet apart, and 40 to 50 feet from <br />shrub clumps, will be used for this filler planting. <br />Deciduous species will consist of Hackberry, Ash, <br />and Hone~ylocust; conifers will consist of Colorado <br />Blue Spruce, Ponderosa Pine, and Eastern Red Cedar. <br />s <br />
