It is of r~ori-mar•ir~e or•igir~. <br />The Menefee For•rnatior~ has a local average thickness of 3UCr <br />feet, thicker~ir~g eastward to 1'~3 feet at the Fl~~r•ida River. <br />The Menefee Forrnatior~ is cor~forrnable with the ur~derlyir~g <br />F~oir~t Lc~~~k_~~_rt Sar~dst~~r~e. <br />Cliff H~~use Sar~dstor~e. 'fhe Cliff House Sandstone is the <br />~_rpper farrnati~=~r~ cif the Mesa Verde Group. It is of rnarir~e <br />~:r•igir~ and composed of ir•regular• t~~ lenticular ledges of <br />hard, fine- to medium-grained calcareous sandstone enclosed <br />ire softer argillacAous sandstone, rn~_rdstor~e, ar~d silty shale. <br />J <br />The Cliff House Sar~dstor~e has a local average thickness of <br />350 feet, thickeriirig slightly westward ar~d thir~r~ing slightly <br />eastward. <br />Lewis Shale.
