If a significant invasion of noxious weeds occurs after seeding, the weeds will be mowed before
they can go to seed. The areas will be mowed periodically for additional control as needed.
Mechanical control will be used as a first priority. Chemical methods will only be used if no
other altemative produces acceptable results.
Replacement Wetlands. The replacement wetland areas will be planted and seeded with native
wetland plants. The following plants will be used for wetland creation:
Streambank Wheatgrass Slender Wheatgrass
Aquatic Sedge Nebraska Sedge
Creeping Spike Rush Tall Mannagrass
Fowl Mannagrass Baltic Rush
Pale Bulrush Alkali Bulrush
Meadow Foxtail Reed Canarygrass
Spreading Bentgrass
It is expected that native wetland plants found in the wetland soils on-site will begin to colonize
the replacement wetland areas prior to planting with the above list. This will be encouraged by
replacing the wetland soils at the expected lake water level. Wetland grasses will be hand
broadcast above the expected water elevation at approximately 10 to 15 lbs. per acre.
Shrubs and trees are also included in the final reclamation of the site. General locations for the
tree and shrub clusters are shown on the Reclamation Plan map. Plants will be chosen from the
following list:
Rubber Rabbitbmsh Geyer Willow
Shrubby Cinquefoil Planeleaf Willow
Chokecherry Coyote/Streambank Willow
Serviceberry Thinleaf Alder
Golden Currant Narrowleaf Cottonwood
Wax Currant River Birch
Prickly Currant Red-Osier Dogwood
Mountain Snowberry Twinberry Honeysuckle
Booth Willow
Water—General Requirement
To minimize the effect on the prevailing hydrologic balance, the operator shall:
a. comply with all applicable Colorado water laws,
b. comply with all applicable Federal and State water quality laws and regulations,
c. comply with all Federal and State requirements for dredge and fill, and
d. regrade all sediment and siltation structures after mining is completed unless such
structures are to be used for wetland mitigation.
River Valle),Resource
DUG 112 Permit
Page 10
