~~ • • <br />After the sand and gravel has been removed the slopes on the <br />outside perimeter of the pit will be flattened to a 2:i slope. <br />A dike between the Colorado River and the proposed pit area <br />will be left in place with a minimum width of 50 feet. All <br />existing trash, brush piles etc. will be disposed of. Upon <br />completion of the pit reclamation we will cease our deti~ratering <br />operation and allow the.water table to return to its natural <br />elevation. <br />At the present time various projects are in 'the design stage <br />which will require sand and gravel products from the vicinity <br />of this proposed pit. ode feel that conservatior. o£ sand and <br />gravel in Mesa County is very important and, that it is in <br />the best interest to re-open this abandoned pit area and <br />remove the sand and gravel which remains. Also, by controlled <br />reclamation as set forth the general area will benefit. <br />Our present plans are to complete operations within this area <br />during the next four years.
