Pond interior sideslopes are at 3H:IV and the concrete wall is keyed into
• the competent Rawlins sandstone bedrock, both along its base and sides. The pond
can be dewatered either through the 8-inch principal spillway discharge pipe at
elevation (invert) 6,027.5 feet or through an open-slot emergency spillway ' at
elevation 6,029.5 feet. IF required for sediment clean-out, Pond E would be
dewatered by pumping. Design information for Sedimentation Pond E is provided in
Exhibit 2.05-E3, Drainage and Sediment Control Plan, and the pond configuration is
illustrated by the Sedimentation Pond E Map, (Map 2.05-MSI).
Sedimentation ponds have been designed and constructed in compliance with
applicable regulatory requirements including applicable provisions for foundation
preparation, embankment construction, (avoidance of process waste and other
deleterious materials and compaction) embankment protection, and installation of
non-clogging dischazge structures.
