Turnpike
Gravel Pit, S31, T2N, R68W
Dear Mr. Miller,
environmental Suppari :pr;
• transportation
+ Land Development
• Mining
+ Industry
The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology requires notification to owners of
permanent man made structures within 200 feet of the affected land. The pit
excavation in this case defines the affected land. The pit area is the actual limit of
excavation. Pit reclamation will leave a pond that will occupy the pit boundary.
The proposed excavation will encroach Kerr McGee (KM) structures as shown in the
enclosed draft mine plan. The plan excavates as close as 10 ft from KM HP gas
lines in the east half of S 31 and greater than 70ft on the west side. The plan will
backfill a setback of 25 ft (east side) from the HP gas lines within two weeks of
excavation (permanent).
The Division of Minerals and Geology Construction Materials Rule 6.4.19 (c) states:
Where such a structure is a utility, the Applicant may supply a notarized letter, on
utility letterhead, from the owner(s) of the utility that the mining and reclamation
activities, as proposed, will have "no negative effect" on their utility.
We are requesting that you provide us with a notarized letter as indicated above.
Sincerely,

Peter Wayland
President
1D395 Colfax Ave., Suite 35D. lalsewoacl, CO 8D2T5
ph 3D3-436-D951 fax 3D3-436-D953
