6.4.4 Exhibit D -Mining Plan
MINING METHODS
All of the mining operation will be "dry" mined. Dewatering trenches will be dug
around the perimeter of each mining cell and dewatered. Stripping and mining
will incorporate conventional aggregate mining methods, including use of
scrapers and dozers to strip overburden and backhoes and scrapers to mine
sand and gravel and haul trucks to move material onsite. This operation will mine
and reclaim concurrently.
EARTHMOVING
North 1/3 of Cell 1
The north 1/3 of Cell 1 will be stripped of overburden and placed in the western
250 ft of the existing pond left behind from previous mining activities (M1979120).
Enough overburden will be left behind to backfill adjacent to oil and gas
structures. As gravel extraction progresses, concurrent backfilling adjacent to oil
and gas structures will occur no later that two weeks following excavation - as
indicated in Exhibit C -Mining Plan. Following mining of the north 1/3 of Cell 1,
Striping of overburden will occur in Cell 2 and Cell 3.
Cell 2 and Cell 3
Prior to mining west of Boulder Creek, a low water crossing will constructed to
allow haul trucks to access Cell 2 and Cell 3. Overburden will be stripped from
Cell 2 and placed in the north part of Cell 3. Following overburden removal,
gravel extraction will occur. Following gravel extraction, the 14,953 yd3'of
overburden stockpiled in Cell 3 and an additional 29,817 yd3 stripped from the
north of Cell 3 will be backfilled into Cell 2.
Prior to mining Cell 3 the Plumb and Dailey Ditch will be moved to the western
perimeter of the property.
Mining of Cell 3 will begin by stripping the overburden in the north half and
placing it in the south half (-81,000 yd3). Following overburden removal, gravel
extraction will occur. Following gravel extraction, overburden placed in the south
half will then be used to backfill the north half. Overburden from the south half will
also be placed in the north half. Gravel extraction will then occur in the south half.
South 2/3rds of Cell 1
Overburden from the south 2/3rds of Cell 1 will be stripped and placed into the
Cell 3. Following gravel extraction from the lower 2/3 rds of Cell 1, mining will
begin in Cell 4
Cell 4
Overburden will be stripped from Cell 4 and backfilled into Cell 3. Enough
overburden will be left behind to backfill adjacent to oil and gas structures. As
gravel extraction progresses, concurrent backfilling adjacent to oil and gas
structures will occur no later that two weeks following excavation - as indicated
in Exhibit C -Mining Plan.
Turnpike Mining Resource
Regular 112 application
