• • / <br />i <br />SECTION C - MINING AND RECLAMATION PLAN ' <br /> <br />A total 20 year mining and reclamation activity is <br />anticipated for the proposed operation. <br />The first step--Phase One will be the installation <br />of the perimeter safety fencing, prior to any mining <br />activity commence s. The removal and proper storage of <br />the topsoil (for each phase separately) will be the next <br />step. The location of crusher and material stockpiles <br />will be located as noted on mining plan, and the location <br />of both will be continuously monitored and if necessary <br />changed to improve sound attenuation characteristics for <br />the adjacent area. <br />The actual gravel extraction process will commence <br />in Please One area, with the same process repeated for fol- <br />lowing areas. <br />reining will oe accomplisnea o ara line metnoa witty <br />no ewaterin to take lace. T e access to the property <br />will be from Brighton Road as noted on the Mining and <br />Reclamation Plans. <br />The finished Reclamation Plan as submitted, will offer <br />a unique Recreational opportunity not just for Adams County, <br />Metro Area, or the State, but also will attract and command <br />National interest and use. <br />The Plan proposes to establish two regulation water <br />ski-slolom championship courses, besides offering picnicking, <br />swimming, fishing and hunting activities commonly found in <br />other reclaimed areas. <br />The Operator (owner-developer) has had a tremendous <br />response and enthusiasm generated with his Plan from numer- <br />ous water sport devotees in Metro, State and out of State <br />areas. Just for the record, the closest single championship <br />course i.s presently located in a desert near Barstow, Calif- <br />ornia. <br />Again, it must be emphasized that Reclamation, starting <br />with the first Phase until final completion, will be an on- <br />going process with backfilling, sloping and contouring of <br />the land as part of the mining operation. Final reclamation <br />of each phase with grassing and tree planting to take place <br />immediately upon completion of each phase. <br />For complete vegetation program, see Section G - Soils <br />and Vegetation. <br />-4- <br />
