• Sedimentation Pond 003. Design information and calculations for this pond were submitted
in the Seneca II Permit Renewal Application (August 27, 1986) and subsequently approved by
CMLRD. On September 8, 1986, Sedimentation Pond 003 was resurveyed as part of Seneca's
1986 annual sediment survey. The survey information was used to develop a
computer-generated contour map. This data was then used to calculate the remaining
sediment storage beneath the principal spillway. The following table shows a comparison
of the 1985 and the September 6, 1986 volume calculations.
1985 September 8, 1986
Capacity Cumulative Capacity Capacity Cumulative Capacity
Elevation (AC-Ft) (Ac-Ft) (Ac-Ft) (Ac-Ft)
6566.0
-- -- 0.27 0.27
6568.0
6570.0
0.59 0.59 0.68 0.95
0.94 1.53 0.94 1.89
• 5577._0
1.20 2.73 1.20 3.09
6574.0
6576.0
6577.1
6578.0
6580.0
46 4.19 1.46 4.55
0.94 5.13 0.94 5.49
0,84 5.97 0.64 6.33
7,99 2.02 8.35
At the principal spillway elevation of 6577.10, the 1985 sediment storage capacity was
5.13 ac-f t; whereas the September 8, 1986 sediment survey indicates a sediment storage
volume of 5.49 ac-f t. The difference in sediment storage of +0.36 ac-ft is primarily the
result of several survey shots being taken at locations in the pondi ng area that were
lower than the survey shots taken in 1985: This is indicative of the survey methods which
•
7-11A-Z
