The ponds will each be
approximately 200 feet by 50 feet with a depth of 3 to 5 feet.
sediment builds up it will be cleaned out and stored in spoil
stockpiles. These stockpiles will be used later in revegetation
the bench areas. Construction will be such that when the water
slows its runoff and the sediments drop out the clear water will
overflow the pond and run into the normal existing drainage.
As
of
Tlie first pond will be located at the west end of the
property just before the water reaches the existing drainage in
the west ravine. As mining progresses eastward the second
drainage will be reached when mining is about 50a complete. when
this centraldrainage point is reached a second sediment pond vaill
be constructed to handle drainage from further east.
