• 5RT 133 (T-10)
This site is a historic foundation of chopped and sawn logs. It lies on a small bench next
to a tributary of Hubberson Gulch, on the ecotone of the scrub oak and big sage com-
munities. No associated garbage dump was discovered and no outbuildings were ap-
parent.
The only indications that the site may be old is a tin can with a side seam that was
crimped and not spotwelded. The bottom was crimped (not an old style) but the method
of opening the can was crude (not a modern can opener). Other artifacts do not indicate
a 50-year or greater age (glass tumbler fragments, milled wood door, stamped hinges).
Furthermore, the site is almost completely gone, with only the foundation remaining.
Five isolated artifacts were recorded, none of which are diagnostic. All were drawn in
the field and some were photographed. These photos are in Appendix 5-I with the Iso-
lated Artifact forms.
r1
U

5-23
