Witte, P.E.
Disision Engineer
[ have received your May 1, 2000 One-Year Review for the Evans Pit #2 located in Sections 35 and 36, T205, R63W. This
is provided as a courtesy comment as this proposal does not involve a subdivision requiring comment by the State
Engineer's Office.
According to Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology records, it appears that the applicant has not yet applied for the
112 mining permit for this operation. This office will review the mining applications after its submittal. Information
provided with your review request suggests that the Evans Pit #2 will be a wet mining operation, and as such, will require
the applicant to obtain approval for a Substitute Water Supply Plan (SWSP) and a gravel pit well permit from the Division
of Water Resources prior to exposure of ground water in the pit, The S WSP originally submitted on the applicant's behalf
was unacceptable. Tuttle Applegate has submitted an amendment for the current SWSP application, which is pending
approval by our office. Any other water used in this operation must be decreed or permitted for such industrial uses, or
included in the SWSP.
Please provide a copy of this letter to the applicants.
Sincerely,
Well Commissioner, Division 2
CC: Kathleen Sullivan, State Engineer's Office
Keith Kepler, Assistant Division Engineer, Division 2
Dennis Bagenstos, Augmentation Coordinator, Div. 2
I .1 ~ ~I~
MAY 1 1 2000 ;' ' +
l• .. ,
.,,~:E ,
~ ~{
4P/9.99.=007
