WW-1 <br />Page: 3 of 11 <br />1.1 Internal Notification <br />Revision No. New <br />WHIRLWIND MINE <br />aces Procedure: N/A <br />The first person contacted by a First Responder notes the information provided in the incident <br />evaluation and is then responsible for notifying the Mine Forman. Notification procedures for work <br />hours and off shift are detailed below. <br />1.1.1 Work Hours <br />During normal mine site work hours internal notification by the First Responder shall be made <br />directly in person, or by utilizing the telephone or mine-phone page systems, if available. <br />The first parson contacted by the First Responder shall notify the Mine Forman and than ensure <br />that the emergency alarm horn (Fire Alarm) is sounded to notify all other personnel on the <br />surface that an emergency situation exists. <br />Note: Directions on the location and use offhese communtcat/ons systems are attached <br />to this procedure as Exhlblt 4. <br />1.1.2 Off-Work Hours <br />• Off-hours notification of response personnel is initiated by the First Responder, who notifies the <br />Mine Forman, the Technical Services Supervisor (TSS) and any other available response <br />personnel. The TSS carries a cell phone /pager and is on call for responding to abnormal <br />process system conditions. A current list of on-call emergency response personnel Is <br />provided in Exhibit 3. <br />1.1.3 Incident Command <br />The first Emergency Coordinator shall assume the responsibility of Incident Command until <br />officially relieved by someone of higher authority. The Incident Commandershall ensure thatthe <br />Emergency Alarm Horn is sounded to alert all site surface personnel that an emergency <br />situation exists. The Incident Commander shall then proceed to the designated response <br />assembly point to coordinate field operations. <br />Note: Once a response operation is under way, a change in Incident Command should only <br />occur if the change would significantly improve the response to the emergency situation. <br />1.1.4 Emergency Coordinator <br />The Mine Forman should first and foremost act as the Emergency Coordinator during an <br />emergency situation at the Whirlwind Mine surface facilities. <br />1) The Emergency Coordinator will perform the following duties: <br />a. Maintain contactwith and coordinate site operations and personnel with the incident <br />response operation. <br />b. Evaluate the incident on an ongoing basis and coordinate the site incident response <br />operation with the TSS, Corporate Management and any outside emergency <br />. response organizations, such as medical and fire services, responding to the mine <br />site. <br />c.
