Co. 80203
RE: Informal Conference on October 2, 1996
Dear Ms. Kamnikar:
plvioion of ~~mlolaio +~ L~ooloyY
We would like to respond to certain items of concerns listed in Summit County's and Mr.
Wyler's letters of objection as summarized on your October 2 presentation form.
Items #2 and #6 of Mr. Wyler's letter and Item #4 of Summit County's letter aze related and
will be addressed as follows:
If Summit County will allow inert fill for construction, L.G. Everist will agree to build 4:1
slopes on 10% of the shorelines of cells 2 through 6. Our revised reclamation plan will place inert
fill areas along the shorelines and the south and east edges adjacent to Highway 9. Rubble asphalt
will not be used in these fill areas, as it is more valuable as a recycle product for road construction.
The inert fill material, as defined by the Colorado Department of Health, will be used on ajob-specific
basis: That is, approved and inspected by the Summit County Health Department, for any single
excavation site.
We feel that this solution is of mutual benefit to both the county and L.G. Everist. The county
will receive the landscape quality they would like in addition to reducing the county landfill burden,
and the company preserves valuable construction resources. It should be noted that 40% more
material is required to build 4:1 than 3:1 slopes. As more inert material becomes available, a larger
percentage of the shorelines can have 4:1 slopes and undulations.
Regarding Summit County's concerns on the landscape clusters shown on Exhibit "F", cross-
section "B", we submit the following:
I II I II I II IIII III ~S.
