McRae
McRae and Short, Inc.
824 12th Street
Greeley, Colorado 80631
Dear Mr. McRae:
' - Enclosed is the information per[aining to the proposed gravel pit site
which you requested, located in the NZ of the SE's of the S[J} of section
~:~ 31, Twp. 6N, Range 65 W.
~ ~ This proposed gravel pit site is comprised of Bankard sandy loam and
Aquolls and Aquents, gravelly substratum soils. These soils can be
subject to flooding. A high water table often exists from April through
.Tune.
The Bankard sandy loam and Aquolls and Aquents (top soil) soils could
provide a plant growth medium. The top soil from these soils could be
stockpiled and used later on for vegetative reclamation.
Bankard soils are generally unsuited as a good source of sand or gravel
for construction purposes. However, Aquolls and Aquents are a good source
of sand and gravel for construction materials. See the attached soils map
and descriptions for more information. Reclamation suggestions are also
enclosed.
An inventory of the dominant present vegetation was made and is included
also.
If you have any questions, or need additional information, please feel
free to call.
i Sjnc'e~rely,
:s wick Antonio
Range Conservationist
~.
