P. (C-81-019)
Dear Jim:
Enclosed, please find a Notice of Intent to Explore Application (NOI) and supporting
information for Colowyo's proposed 2005 exploration program.
The primary purpose of this drill program is to obtain additional data on the potentially
mineable coal seams in the Collom, Lower Wilson, and West Pit areas. This will include
obtaining structural, geotechnical, coal quality, and hydrogeological data for these coal
"~_ seams and the associated overburden and interburden. Drilling will consist of a
combination of either a pilot hole with a second offset core hole, or a single drill hole
with coring. All pilot holes will be geophysically logged. A detailed description of all
reclamation requirements is contained in the NOI application package.
Colowyo has previously supplied DMG all material referenced in the NOI application in
past NOI applications and adequacy response letters to DMG. This includes the
'Threatened and Endangered Species or Critical Wildlife Habitat' and `Archaeological or
Historical Significant Sites' information. All data referenced in the NOI application
covers the drilling areas discussed.
Colowyo has not performed the bond calculation and respectfully requests that the
Division calculate the required bond for Colowyo using your Reclamation Cost
Computer Program. Adequate information in order to perform this calculation is
contained within this NOI application. Upon review and consensus between Colowyo
and the Division on the calculated bond amount, Colowyo will obtain a Pertormance
Bond or appropriate security as per Rule 3.05.
N:\CCC_ENGUDAN\DMGWOI_DOC\OSNOI\Cowr Lever.doc
