1
EYHIBIT B
hIINING PLAID
' The quarrying operation will proceed in three phases:
' 1. 'fhe overburden over the sandstone will be stripped
and stockpiled for future reclamation purposes.
2. The exposed sandstone will be drilled and shot to
' break large boulders, suitable for rip-rap, from the
face of the sandstone outcrop.
' 3. The large boulders will be loaded and hauled from the
site. There will be no processing at this site. Some
"popping" of larger material on the quarry floor may
' be required prior to loading and hauling.
It is anticipated that approximately 10,000 cubic yards (CY) of
material will be removed from this site annually. The quarry will
' operate from four to six months out of every year.
The quarrying will occur in five annual stages. Each stage
' will encompass an area roughly 150 feet by 100 feet. The rock
will be quarried to a depth of twenty feet along a 150 foot face.
' The overburden in the area to be quarried is approximately
three feet thick. The sandstone exceeds twenty feet in depth
but will only be quarried to the twenty foot level.
' Quarrying will begin at the exposed face at the north of the
subject property and proceed southwesterly as shown on the
Exhibit B, map.
' Overburden will be removed to expose sufficient rock for the
proposed shot.
' Shooting will be done on a weekly or bi-weekly basis depending
on the demand for material.
' There is no washing, crushing or other processing of material
proposed with this quarry operation.
' The area to be disturbed in any one year is estimated to be
as follows:
Major disturbance 3.5 acres
Moderate disturbance 2.0 acres
Minor disturbance 0.4 acres
1
