it is diverted into Harrence Ditch miles
upstream from the mine area. The c eek bed
adjacent to the pit area is virtual y dry
even during the height of Spring ru -off.
b. Mill Creek will be protected from s dimen-
tation by the top-soil stockpile be ween the
creek and the pit. The pit will be at least
75 feet from Mill Creek.
c. The Stage Stop Pit will be operated as a dry
pit using rubber-tired loaders for xcavation.
As previously stated, Mill Creek adjacent Co
the pit is dry even during Spring r n-off.
d. Because of the diversion of the entire flow
of Mill Creek into the Harrence Dit h two
miles upstream from the pit, loss of top-soil
due to flooding is virtually impossi le;
however, the top-soil stockpiled bet een Mill
Creek and the pit will be seeded to revent
erosion.
3. The top-soil stockpiles will be seeded ith
Western wheatgrass at a rate of 16 lbs. PLS/acre.
4. Planned life of this mining operation i~ 10
years.
Exhibit n
3
1. The vegetation survey submitted by the CS
is still applicable to the new area. A great
deal of the new permit area overlaps th
original area.
2. Likewise the soils in the new area are ~he
same as previously submitted.
Stage Stop Pit will in no way interfere with any
water rights. The pit will be a dry pit ex-
cavated far enough from both Mill Creek and
Harrence Ditch to remain dry and to kee any of
Chose waters from seeping into the piC.
Exhibit F.
1. a. Stage Stop Pit will be mined in such
fashion to prevent a lake forming in
a
the pit.
2
