Box X91 <br />Somerset, CO 81434 <br />Dear Mr. DiClaudio, <br />RECE~!/ED <br />MAR 1. 4 ?JG? <br />Division of Minerals and Geology <br />This letter authorizes Mountain Coal Company (MCC) to commence operations for drilling gob <br />ventilation boreholes for longwal] panels 14 and 15 on the Grand Mesa-Uncompahgre and <br />Gunnison National Forests (GMUG) on April 5, 200E The GMUG authorizes this activity under <br />environmental documentation contained attached Decision Memo (DM). This authorization is <br />conditioned on compliance with lease stipulations on federal coal leases C-1362 and COC- <br />56447, included with the DM as Attachment A, and on specific Conditions of Approval included <br />as Attachment B. <br />• Please note that this approval is only for MCC to reopen the West Flatiron drill site access road, <br />and drill from former drill locations 97-26-1 and RAV-10. Other road building or drill pad <br />construction is not authorized.
