EXHIBIT D
Reclamation Plan
Reclamation
Upon completion of mining, the azea disturbed by mining activities will be regraded to
topography supportive of the planned post mining land use. All cut slopes will be
reduced to a slope no greater than 3:1 (ratio ofhorizontal to vertical) and covered with 6"
of soil material.
The primary post mining land use is Rural Residential. As preparation for this usage, the
area. will be leveled, compacted, and provided with a soil cover. As shown on Map E-3
the access roads into the mining area will remain as a permanent road to access this area
and adjacent properties.
Out-lying areas will be reclaimed to rangeland. Plant growth medium recovered prior to
or during mining operations will be uniformly spread over these areas to a minimum
depth of four (4) inches. Prior to seeding the area will be ripped or disked to depth not to
exceed the growth medium cover depth.
Table 1 Reclamation Seed Mix
Species lbs PLS/Acre
Western Wheatgrass 8.0
Smooth brome 7.5
Blue gramma 2.0
Cicer milkvetch 1.5
Little blue stem I.0
TOTAL 20.0
The area will be seeded at the rate of 20 pounds of PLS per acre. Seeding methods will
include drilling and broadcasting. Broadcasting will typically be utilized on steeper
slopes. Where broadcasting is utilized, seed rates will be doubled.
Mulching will include either application of straw or hay mulch at the rate of two (2) tons
per acre. The mulch will be crimped after application.
To the extent practical this process will be completed as mining progresses to minimi~c
reclamation remaining at the end of mining.
D-1
