Discharge structures will be designed according to standard engineering design procedures.
Transportation Facilities
Existing and Proposed Haulage Roads. The following describes the design and construction of the haul
roads at the Seneca II-W Mine. Haulage Road G was constructed during the 1992 field season outside
the area disturbed by mining and reclamation activities. Haul Roads H, I, J, K and L will be constructed
as mining proceeds to the south in the II-W South area. The locations of existing and proposed haul
roads are shown on Exhibits 12-2 and 12-3. Geotechnical investigations have been completed for Haul
Road G and can be found in Attachment 13-3.
General Requirements. SCC will construct, maintain and reclaim haul roads to minimize erosion and
siltation, air and water pollution and damage to public and private property. To the extent possible,
using the best technology currently available, haul roads will be designed and constructed to minimize
damage to fish, wildlife, or related environmental values and will minimize additional contributions of
suspended solids to streamflow or to runoff outside the permit area. Any such contribution shall not be
in excess of limitations of State or Federal law.
7 Revised 01/02
