map illustrates the existing and probable processing area setting.
However, the processing facilities may move if necessary in the affected
area to accommodate the operations.
Other than possible portable scales, it is not planned that any other
structures will be located on site.
Life of the Operation
It is estimated that about two or three acres will be disturbed per
year. On the basis of this rate of extraction, the life of the operation
is estimated to be approximately 12 to 18 years. However, the actual rate
of mining is based on market demands and subject to change accordingly.
Phases of Mining and Reclamation
It is anticipated that there will be two phases of the operation as
follows:
PHASES
Phase 1 - 33.94 +/- ac. (21.8 +/- ac. disturbed).
To be mined beginning in the fall of 1995
for a period estimated to be about 7 to
11 years. Reclamation of this Phase to
begin upon commencement of operations in
Phase 2.
Phase 2 - 17.0 +/- ac. (13.8 +/- ac. disturbed).
To be mined over a period estimated to be
about 5 to 7 years. Reclamation of Phase 1
to commence. Reclamation of Phase 2 to occur
upon completion of operations.
Concurrent Reclamation
Reclamation will occur in conjunction with the mining operation to the
extent practicable. The anticipated reclamation phasing plan is included
with the phases described above. However, because of the configuration of
the affected area, processing and stockpiling could remain in the same
-6-
