WILDLIFE RESOURCES ASSESSMENT <br />DUCKWORTH PIT <br />WELD COUNTY, COLORADO <br />MAY 10, 2004 <br />Introduction <br />Lafarge North America contracted ERO Resources Corporation (ERO) to conduct a <br />Wildlife Resources Assessment at the proposed Duckworth Aggregate Pit in Weld <br />Count}', Colorado. <br />According to the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) Rules and <br />Regulations (October 1995) Rule 6.4.8(I)a of Wildlife Information requires the Applicant <br />to include a description of the significant wildlife resources on the affected land. Rule <br />6.4.8(I)d requires the Applicant to include a description of the general effect during and <br />after the proposed operation on the existing wildlife of the azea, including but not limited <br />to temporary and permanent loss of food and habitat, interference with migratory routes, <br />and the general effect on the wildlife from increased human activity, including noise. <br />Purpose <br />The purpose of this assessment is to determine the presence or absence of wildlife <br />populations and habitat on or neaz the proposed Duckworth Aggregate Pit (project site). <br />Project Description <br />The project site is northwest of the intersection of Weld County Road 20 '/z and Weld <br />County Road 7 (Rine, Colorado). The project is located in the Longmont 7Y-minute <br />USGS quad, T2N, R68W, NE'/4 Section 16, in Weld County, Colorado (Figure 1).
