All water required for the mining operation will be provided either through an
alluvial well constructed at the site or groundwater from the gravel pits. Permit applications for the
proposed well and gravel pit have been submitted (Rec. Nos. 431975 & 431976).
The anticipated depletions for evaporation, water in product, dust suppression, and off site
watering are 123.87 acre-feet, 10.31 acre-feet, 4.25 acre-feet, and 33 acre-feet respectively (total
of 171.43 acre-feet from January through December). The total depletions during May 15 through
September 15 (time of call during normal year of precipitation) are estimated to be 108.5 acre-feet.
The proposed replacement water source is reusable effluent credit from the City of Greeley (City)
wastewater treatment plant for year round augmentation. A lease has been secured from the City
for 115.87 acre-feet through December of 1998 to replace depletions during those times when the
river is over-appropriated. The gravel pits are close enough to the Cache La Poudre River (less
than 100 feet) for depletions to the river to be considered instantaneous. The depletions to the
river which require replacement are as follows:
Month Pond
Eva oration Water in
Product Dust Control Off Site
Waterin Total
De letions
May 15-31 9.909 0.893 0.4 3.333 14.535
June 17.961 1.65 0.75 7 27.361
July 18.581 1.75 0.76 9 30.091
August 16.722 1.55 0.65 I 6 24.922
September
1-15 g 671 0.62 U.3 2 11.591
To to I 71.844 6.463 2.86 .27.333 108.5
III III I IIIIIIIII III ~.,.$` ep;r.
p• ~`
999 ~~'~~'^~ ~ o .
i i ~ _
:-~~ .;
August 12, 1998 ' •'";° -'
