• 2.05.3 4. Benches The proposed surface disturbance for the upper mine facilities includes the construction of benches with related access roads. The first or upper is a small utility bench for a water tank, electrical substation and ventilation shaft. The second bench or portal bench is developed for an office, change house, shop, warehouse, screen and crusherbuilding, coal stockpile, reclaim tunnel, radial stackers and other facilities. Portions of the portal bench will be utilized for material storage and other mine facilities that are discussed in section 2,05.3(3). A small bench along the haul road will be constructed for the downhill conveyor transfer and drive building. Another bench will be constructed along old State Highway 133 for the coal stockpile, reclaim system and truck loadout. 5. Gob Pile A gob pile was constructed east of the mine entrance below the old King Mine portals beginning at the level of the old railroad track grade. The proposed disturbance associated with the gob pile includes clearing the area necessary to form the boundary of the pile. Facilities associated with the gob pile include a topsoil stockpile, cover fill stockpile, haul road and a sediment pond. 6. Unit Train Loadout The disturbance associated with the unit train loadout is located south of the mine along the Union Pacific mainline. A conveyor, new track and a batch weigh system will be installed. Approximately 2,800 feet of mainline must be relocated so the lead and parallel storage track can be constructed. The lead track is 8,240 feet long and the storage track is 3,570 feet long. (3) Mine Facilities The major surface facilities are located north of the North Fork of the Gunnison River. The mine portals are located about 800 feet above old State Highway 133 at an elevation of approximately 6880 feet where the D-2 Seam outcrops. The loadout is located along the mainline of the Union Pacific Railroad at an elevation of approximately 5880 feet. The surface facilities consist of sediment control structures, coal handling facilities, unit train loadout, support facilities for mine operations and other related facilities. • PR-06 2.05 - 8 - 12/01 /i PPRovED ~/~s/o i
