Deferred grazing, cross fencing, and stockwater develo•
ments will help to prevent ra~ige deterioration and promote the growth of more desiral:
plants.
This soil has limited potential for wildlife when used as range because of low
vegetative production. On nonirrigated land the best use is for wildlife such as jac
rabbits, cottontail, and c..yote. When this sparsely vegetated soil is used for wildl.
proper livestock grazing management is necessary. When irrigated, crop residue from
r
oats and barley may be utilized by ring-necked pheasant, and waterfowl.
This soil is suited to homesite development. The main limitations are large
amounts of gravel and cobble. This soil is a good source of sand, gravel, and roadfi
material. Caving of cutbanks is a hazard when excavating. Septic tank systems and i
trench-type sanitary landfills can cause groundwater contamination in some places, du
to the very rapid infiltration rate of the substratum.
This map unit is in capability subclass IVs, irrigated, and VIIS, nonirrigated.
It is in Mountain Outwash range site.
,

~~..;:
.y
4
+,n
J

..
:.:. .
