Mr. Boyce has submitted the necessary application fee
since July 30, 1985. Your office should have the fee on
hand.
2. Please refer to the attached map marked location map.
Rancho Rosado Pit No. 1 is shaded red; Rancho Rosado Pit
No. 2 is outlined in yellow. You can see that pit no. 1
is a portion of pit no. 2. The strip shown in green is
the new alignment for County Road 66T, which has been
swapped by Boyce for the old alignment of County Road
66T.
3. The topsoil in the area varies from four (4) inches
to twelve (12) inches, with an average depth of six (6)
inches, therefore an average of six (6) inches of
topsoil will be salvaged and reapplied during
reclamation. There is no overburden between the topsoil
and the gravel mined. The material in the pit will be
mined to a depth of ten (10) to fifteen (15) feet.
Final slopes will be 3:1 and the reclaimed pit will be a
dry pit.
4. The pit will be reclaimed in the same fashion as
Saguache County San Isabel Gravel Pit approximately 1/4
mile West; stockpiled topsoil will be packed and seeded
with native grasses to minimize erosion and invasion by
weeds. The top soil stockpile area will be fenced to
prevent disturbance from mining operations and activity
on the adjacent lands.
I
