MEETING WITH WATER USERS -EAST AND MAIN ROATCAP DRAINAGE
October 09, 1984
• Page four
of the overburden was determined. Jim Roberts explained that this was
determined through drill holes. CWI feels they would not want to mine
where there Is more than 2,000 feet of overburden.
Mr. Grosse-Rhode asked what the longevity of the mine would be in that
area. A1att explained that there was one area that was the access to the
coal and that would be the only area mined.
Ron went over the mining process and showed on the map what had been
mined to date. Mr. Grosse-Rhode asked if there were any problems with
water and Jim Roberts explained that the water-bearing strata had pockets
that come out for a while then will dry up. Rather than take a chance at
having water seep into the mine, the company would move it. A year ago the
residents one area came to the company and told them of an area that was
seeping badly and wanted them to pipe the water.
Mr. Grosse-Rhode asked if he could have a copy of the map used to show
water rights. Matt said they were public documents and he was given the
map that was used. He was also told that the water rights report was down
at the County Court House if he wanted to look at that.
• Ron thanked Mr. Grosse-Rhode for attending and the meeting was
adjourned.
r
•
