SAGUACHE COUNTY

ROAD AND BRIDGE DEPARTMENT
P.O. Box 476
Saguache, Colorado 81149
PHO~E'(719) 655-2553 ~ PAX (719) 655-2543
January 13, 1997
R~`~%I
Mr. Kenneth Skoglund ~~'~
P.O. Box 209 ~/'~"'~
Moffat, Colorado 81143 ~.:. ~`•, J." •,
).
Dear Mr . Skoglund : ~•~ C;...
~~
As per our previous discussions Saguache County is willing °Jy
to give up any mining rights to the BLM San Isabel Pit we
might posses with the exception of removal of the small
stockpiles still remaining at the site. This would include
partial or full release of some of our responsibilities
incurred our agreement for reclamation with the BLM. We
are still committed to complete reclamation to the
satisfaction of the BLM on any portion of the pit not
included in your pit application.
Enclosed for your use is a copy of the "Declaratory Order"
issued by the Division of Minerals and Geology concerning
this pit. I had previously told you that we had a permit
for the site, I was in error. As you can see from this
order the removal of stockpiled materials was exempt from
permit requirements.
Having reviewed your plans for your proposed pit, the
County agrees that no damage will occur to structures owned
by the County including roads and fences due to your
proposed operations and we will not hold you. responsible
for damage in the future should in occur at this site to
County owned structures.
As per our discussions the County would like to see a
private pit operation developed in this portion of the
County. If we can be of any further assistance do not
hesitate to call upon us.
Sincerely,
-~
o T. Ungefug, P. .
Su visor Saguache County Road
and Bridge Department
