<br />Reclamation Plan: <br />At conclusion of mining it may be necessary to rip or otherwise <br />treat the area of compacted soil to promote root penetration. <br />The site will than be smoothed out, leveling any deposits of sand <br />and gravel remaining. <br />Overburden will be replaced following mining to slopes not <br />steeper than 4:1. Topsoil will then be returned over the <br />overburden, retaining the slopes not steeper than the 4:1 shown <br />above. <br />Following the final shaping, the mined area will be worked for a <br />seedbed and be seeded to a cover crop of sorghum-type of forage. ~- 7 <br />A grass mixture of 2.3 pounds PLS per acre Sideoats, .3 pounds <br />PLS per acre Blue grams, and 1.1 pounds PLS per acre Little <br />Bluestem will be seeded. (The area may need to be fenced to <br />prevent grazing by livestock until the grass stand is <br />established.) <br />*It may be noted that if the topsoil is not stored and then <br />replaced at the conclusion of mining, it will be necessary to <br />fertilize the site with 40 pounds of Nitrogen and 40 pounds of <br />Phosphorus per acre. <br />
