IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
S E P 2 .? 1978
HECL
Cc,:,;. De?t. u! ^!a_tural ;?esoerces
425 37th Avenue Court
Graeley, Colorado F0r,31
September 13 , 1978
TO THE LAND MINE RECLAMATION BOARD:
For several months, my husband and I have been
genuinely concerned about and emphatically opposed
to a proposed gravel mining operation in our
neighborhood . We understand that this proposed
project must now come under your scrutiny .
We ask you to consider all the detrimental effects this
mining operation would have on our residential area,
and take every measure to discourage this project .
There are hundreds of people living in the immediate
area of the proposed operation--hundreds of people
whose lives will be affected . With the added noise,
dust , truck traffic , the impact on our immediate
environment is obvious . With all the children in
this area, a gravel pit with its equipment is extremely
hazardous . Too , the aesthetic quality of our area
will be spoiled as well , even with the minimal (and
inadequate) buffer zone measures proposed.
For 15 to 25 years , this area would be at a gross
disadvantage--even the ensuing reclamation plan
appears ineffectual and ambiguous .
We need your support on this issue . Please consider
the investment we all have made in our neig}iborhocd
to make our way of life here enjoyable, healthy, and
safe. This mining project could destroy all we`ve
worked for.
Mrs, llannyh
I
