It explains, in part,
why our phone message last Monday evening, June 20, 1977 asked that
you veto the recent house bill weakening our mined land reclamation
law. We have three highly visible "scars on the mountains" which
must be repaired somehow and SPABA hopes to help do so.
A Colorado College biology class and I saw you last April taping a water
conservation commercial in the Garden of the Gods area of Colorado
Springs standing directly under the original "Scar". We pointed it
out to you, partly because it has become a local trademark and partly
because we in Colorado Springs know we need your help and the state's
help in healing this wound.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Sincerely,
;;
(Mrs.) Barbara Winternitz
President
BW:do
7~-L~~
