Winters are cold - <br />' w{th.deep snow cover. Native plants are favored by spring <br />moisture from accumulated snow. Native (potential) Vegetation r:" <br />The aspect of this site is that of a very abrupt ahd obY'tous~. ~ ,:y%;;,'.°, ; ± <br />boundaried low appearing shrub dominated communfty.•, A~}kali`;, `"f= ' <br />F <br />sagebrush Is the dominate shrub species, Vasey rebbitbrush i's. <br />often present. On drier areas of this site, Gardner.'s ahd„mat.' <br />saltbush are present. Prairie Juuegrass, bluebunch wheatgrass; :' `,-:' y~ <br />muttongrass, squirreltail, Nevada bluegrass and wes.te~n wheat- <br />grass are the principal grass species. Important forbs~species <br />include low phlox, daisy, western yarrow, buckwheat, pussytoes, <br />fringed sage and onions. Other plants present on this site in ~ ' <br />different localities include big sagebrush, pine needlegrass, - "~' ' <br />thickspike wheatgrass, streambank wheatgrass, stonecrop, native <br />clovers, herbaceous conqulfoil, asters and bluebells. <br />~%' .. <br />• <br />
