SANTA FE LOADOUTS
2.04.3 Site Description and Land Use Information
• Both tracts are in the railroad yards of the Atcheson, TopeE::a
and Santa Fe Failway Company in the town of Trinidad. The land
is flat and devoid of topsoil and vegetation. Traditionally, the
tracts have been used solely as railcar loading and unloading
facilities which classifies the current land use of the site as
"commerical ar industrial".
The only possible-renewable resource that e;;ists on site is
groundwater, which will be virtually unaffected because any
possible aquifiers are located stratigraphically below the Pierre
shale, an aquiclude which occurs within a few feet of the
surface in the area of the loadout. Groundwater and possible
effects from the loadout is discussed in more detail' in ^c.04.7
• (1) Ground Water Information
------------------------
•
605
