I11 LOADOUT

2.04.7 (2) SURFACE WATER INFORMATION
The loadout site is located approximately 1,000 feet from the
Purgatoire River at a point approximately 3z miles downstream
from the Trinidad Lake Flood Control Project. Prior to the
construction of the dam, the areas along the river were threat-
ened by the peak flow from a major storm, however, the Army Corps
of Engineers, Albuquerque office, has stated that tt.e dam now
prevents the river from exceeding it's banks during the 100 year,
24 hour storm. The loadout site is located approximately 9 to
12 feet vertically above the river.
The only other major water structure in the vicinity is the
John Flood Ditch. The water rights are owned by Model Land
Headgate Company and the sole use of the water is for irrigation.
The following information was gathered from the State Engineer's
office on the rights:
Adjudication Date: 1/12/25
Appropriation Date: 10/20/02
Basin Rank: 2353
Total Flow Right: 142 CFS
1981 Total Flow: 114.3 acre-feet
1981 Average Flow: 5.25 SFD
Grantee:
Model Land Headgate Company
22044-87 County Rd
Trinidad, CO 81082
Because the loadout site will produce no discharge for any storm
up to the 10 year event, no surface waters will be affected.

643
f
