StV~TA FE LOADOUTS <br />2.04.7 (1) Ground Water Information <br />• Data from borings <br />was obtained from <br />borings show that <br />clay and weatherer <br />Shale formation) <br />for the Interstate ~5 bridge over Linden Avenue <br />the Colorado Department of Hiyhways. These <br />the immediate yround surface consi~ats of silty <br />i shale underlain try a hard shale (the Fierre <br />which outcrops over a large surrounding area. <br />The boring data is included in this section and the location of <br />the borings are shown on Map No.13• <br />Alluvium material was not detected in the borings ar on site. <br />Loadout site inspection shows that the surface consists of highly <br />compacted silty shale material that does not readily transmit <br />water. <br />• Water wa~a detected in one of the two borings,_however-, the <br />impermeable Pierre shale layer is within ~5 feet of the surface, <br />and the surrounding railroad yards and industrial sites male this <br />an insignificant source. Any groundwater aquifers below the <br />Pierre shale should not be affected by the small Loadout sites, <br />as they are not located in the recharge for these aquifers. <br />• <br />625 <br />
